Aluminium Windows

Slim sightlines, long service life.

Stone barn conversion with large anthracite aluminium corner windows

What are aluminium windows?

Aluminium windows use a strong, slim metal frame, allowing more glass and less frame than most other materials. Frames are powder coated in the chosen colour.

They suit contemporary architecture, extensions and barn conversions, and can sit well in Yorkshire stone where a clean, dark frame contrasts with the masonry. We supply aluminium systems from Cortizo and Smart Systems.

Where it works best

  • Contemporary extensions
  • Stone properties where sightlines matter

Why people choose it

  • Narrow frames for a higher proportion of glass
  • Powder-coated finish with low maintenance
  • Large openings without heavy frame sections
  • Consistent detailing across a whole elevation

Questions

What are aluminium windows?

Windows made with a powder-coated aluminium frame. The strength of the material allows slimmer frames and larger panes than most alternatives, with low day-to-day maintenance.

Are aluminium windows suitable for period homes?

Sometimes. Heritage aluminium profiles with slim glazing bars can suit stone and industrial-character properties, but a traditional sash or flush casement is often more appropriate for Georgian and Victorian houses. We advise per property.

How much do aluminium windows cost?

There is no meaningful fixed price. Cost depends on size, configuration, glass, colour, hardware, access and the complexity of installation. We provide a written quotation against an agreed specification, typically within 48 hours of having the details we need.

Do aluminium windows need maintenance?

Very little — occasional cleaning of frames and tracks and checking hardware. There is no painting.
